A training in conscious movement, ritual, and facilitation, supporting you to guide embodied journeys that are free, safe, and deeply alive.
Ecstatic Dance is more than a dancefloor — it is a living ritual, a collective journey, and a powerful form of embodied meditation. When held well, it becomes a space where people can move beyond performance, reconnect with themselves, and experience genuine presence in community.
The Ecstatic Dance Facilitator Training is designed for those who feel called to hold these spaces with depth, care, and integrity. Rather than offering a formula to follow, this training supports you to understand the inner architecture of an ecstatic dance journey — how music, movement, nervous system regulation, ritual structure, and group dynamics come together to create a container that feels both free and safe.
You will be guided through both personal exploration and practical facilitation skills, deepening your own embodied awareness while learning how to responsibly guide others. Ethics, consent, and emotional safety are woven throughout, ensuring the work remains grounded, relational, and trauma-aware.
Rooted in humanistic psychology, somatic intelligence, and ritual arts, this training is for dancers, facilitators, artists, therapists, and community space holders who wish to step into facilitation as a practice of presence — not performance.
No formal facilitation or dance training is required. This training is designed for people who feel called to work with conscious movement and group spaces. Some experience with embodiment, dance, or personal development practices is helpful, but curiosity, self-reflection, and a willingness to learn are far more important than technical skill.
Yes. Trauma-awareness, consent, boundaries, and ethical facilitation are central to the training. You’ll learn how to create spaces that support nervous system regulation, emotional safety, and choice — for yourself and for participants. This work is held with care, depth, and responsibility throughout.
Graduates who complete the full training requirements, including practice, reflection, and assessment, will receive certification as an Ecstatic Dance Facilitator through URUBU. Certification reflects demonstrated readiness and responsibility, rather than attendance alone.
Music is an important part of the training, but this is not a technical DJ course. The focus is on understanding how music shapes movement journeys, emotional arcs, and group energy. You’ll learn how to curate and guide musical journeys with sensitivity, intention, and presence.
The training includes live sessions, guided practices, reflection, and practical experience. Time commitment varies depending on the format, but participants are encouraged to move at a pace that supports integration rather than overload. Clear expectations are shared before enrolment.
Course Overview
Holding Ritual Space Through Music, Presence & Ethical Leadership
This training is a complete initiation into holding Ecstatic Dance spaces through music, embodiment, and conscious facilitation.
It is not a DJ course with a few facilitation tips added.
It is not a performance training.
And it is not a fast-track certification.
This is a depth-oriented training for those who feel called to hold collective dance spaces with integrity, sensitivity, and care — where music becomes the language of ritual, and presence becomes the primary authority.
This course trains you to become an Ecstatic Dance DJ–Facilitator: someone who can guide a full dance journey through music while holding emotional safety, nervous-system regulation, and ethical boundaries.
You will learn to:
The training weaves together musical craft, Somatic awareness, Nervous system literacy, Ritual design and Ethical facilitation. All are treated as essential. None are optional.
This training does not promise:
Readiness is assessed holistically.
Completion does not equal entitlement.
The course unfolds over 9 integrated modules, following a clear pedagogical rhythm:
Learn → Sense → Practice → Reflect → Witness → Integrate
You’ll move through:
Throughout the training, technical DJ skills and facilitation maturity are developed together, not separately.
Music is treated as powerful nervous-system input, not entertainment.
You will learn:
The emphasis is always on containment, coherence, and trust.
Ecstatic Dance DJs and facilitators are highly visible.
With visibility comes projection, authority, and influence.
This training addresses:
These conversations are explicit, grounded, and ongoing.
Toward the end of the training, participants complete a practicum that includes:
The focus is not on perfection, but on capacity, awareness, and integrity.
This training may be for you if:
This training may not be for you if:
Ecstatic Dance spaces shape people’s inner lives.
Music moves bodies, emotions, memories, and meaning.
This training exists to ensure that those who step into this role do so with presence, humility, and care — for themselves, for the dancers, and for the field as a whole.
If you feel a quiet yes rather than a rush of excitement,
you are likely in the right place.
