You've applied. You've spoken with Seth. And now, the final part.  We've listened to what our successful applicants have said, and as this is a co-creation happening in real time, the full course has emerged.  Now it's time to share the details.

This page holds everything you need to know: what the training actually involves, the dates, the structure, and the investment. Take your time with it. This is a real commitment! Twelve weeks, one evening a week, plus additional video content, and we want you to say yes with full clarity, not just excitement.

Level 1 is where the path begins; a structured, embodied, twelve-week container to build the roots, the musicality, and the presence that this work asks of you. This will be a slow, honest, developmental process, one that trains the DJ, the facilitator, and the human being underneath both. So please take a read of this page carefully, and once you’re ready, you can book your place at the bottom of this page.

Haven't had your 1:1 call with Seth?

Before booking your spot, it’s compulsary for all participants to have a 1:1 call before booking onto the course. We hold these calls to ensure all your questions are answered, and to assess readiness to join this path. Please book your call below if you haven’t completed this step already.

What This Training Is

This course weaves together everything that makes an Ecstatic Dance space more than a party and more than a class:

  • The roots and history of Ecstatic Dance
Where this practice came from, and the lineages that shaped it
  • Music awareness and DJ craft
The technical and energetic skill of holding a room through sound
  • Embodied facilitation
Presence, nervous-system regulation, and the art of holding a group
  • Creating intentional, transformational dance spaces
Ritual, container, and the architecture of a journey
  • Ethics, safety and responsibility
The power dynamics every facilitator must understand and hold consciously
  • Personal presence and creative development
Your own growing edge, on and off the decks
  • Community, collaboration and peer learning
Because this craft is never built alone

Your Weekly Journey

The Three

Learning Strands

Every week moves through three connected threads, woven together rather than taught in isolation.

The history, lineage, principles and transformational purpose behind the practice. Understanding what you’re actually standing inside of when you hold space.

Music, DJ skills, genre awareness, energetic sequencing, and the architecture of the dance journey. The craft of building and holding a wave.

Embodiment, facilitation, ethics, communication, self-awareness, and the capacity to hold a group safely. The inner instrument that makes all the outer skill trustworthy.

Who This Training Is For

This is an introductory, exploratory level, and based on your application and your conversation with Seth, it sounds like a genuine fit. A quick recap of what that means:

  • You’ve attended Ecstatic Dance, 5Rhythms, or another conscious/regular dance practice within the last year
  • You already have a sense of the music that moves and excites you
  • You’re ready to move, to be seen, and to be honest in a group
  • You feel the pull toward holding space for others, even if you don’t yet know what that means in practice

No prior DJing or facilitation experience is required. You don’t need to already be a DJ, a musician, or a practicing facilitator. What matters is that you’re a dancer at heart, with a real love for this practice and a willingness to begin.

The Developmental pathway

Important:

What Level 1 Is

Level 1 is the beginning of a developmental pathway, not a certification.

Completing this course does not automatically qualify you to facilitate independently under the Ecstatic Dance Temple name. It builds the roots, rhythm, and presence you’ll need to go forward. Those who wish to graduate and become recognised Ecstatic Dance Temple facilitators will continue into the separate, in-person Level 2 Graduation Retreat, where the craft you’ve built here is tested, deepened, and witnessed in embodied practice.

Level 1 introduces participants to the foundations of becoming an Ecstatic Dance Temple DJ and facilitator. It’s designed for people who already have some experience of Ecstatic Dance, conscious movement or related personal-development practices, but who do not necessarily have previous DJing or facilitation experience.

Level 2 is for those who have completed Level 1 and want to step into becoming a certified Ecstatic Dance Temple Facilitator. Level 2 is an in-person 5 day retreat that deep dives into the practices, with more practical experience of facilitating a room. Those who graduate will become official Ecstatic Dance Temple Facilitators.

Level 3 is an optional level for Certified Ecstatic Dance Temple Facilitators that want to expand their offerings, with Trance Dances, Bioenergetics & Cacao Ceremonies.

Course Structure

  • Format: 12-week live online course, held weekly
  • Day & time: Monday evenings, 7:00–9:00 PM
  • Dates: Starting Monday 11th January 2027 — finishing Monday 29th March 2027
  • Weekly video content: Additional recorded teaching each week for deeper understanding between live sessions
  • 1:1 support: Two personal technical sessions with Seth, to support your individual DJ setup and growth
  • Attendance requirement: To be eligible to continue to Level 2, participants must attend at least 75% of live sessions with camera on

This is a live, relational training. The container works because people show up for each other, week after week, so consistent attendance and presence (camera on, genuinely in the room) is part of the practice itself, not just admin.

The Developmental pathway

Investment:

£1500

£499

£500 for the full 12-week Level 1 training.

This includes all live sessions, weekly video content, and your two personal technical sessions with Seth.
We are aiming to be as accessible as possible, so we’re proving installment options for those that would rather pay monthly.

Your Questions Answered

Frequently Asked Questions

You’re not left to figure this out alone between Mondays. Support comes in a few layers:

  • A WhatsApp group for the cohort, for sharing music, asking tech questions, and staying connected between sessions
  • Twice-monthly optional peer meetings, including a buddy share, so you can practice, reflect, and troubleshoot with fellow participants
  • Two 1:1 technical sessions with Seth, dedicated to your personal setup and progress

The training is designed to hold you well beyond the two hours on a Monday night.

Not necessarily, the training itself is delivered using Traktor, which is industry-standard DJ software, and you can complete the course with just the software, no hardware required.

If you’d like the fuller hands-on experience, we’d recommend picking up a Traktor controller as well, though it’s not essential to get started.

If you’re already using a different DJ software, that’s fine too, but note that the course is taught on Traktor, so you’ll need to translate what you learn into your own software in your own time; we won’t be teaching other platforms directly.

No. This is an introductory level. Some participants have never touched a controller before; others have some experience. What matters is your relationship to the music and your willingness to learn.

Life happens, and one or two missed sessions won’t derail you. However, to be eligible to continue to the Level 2 Graduation Retreat, you’ll need to attend at least 75% of live sessions with your camera on. Each week’s video content is there to help you stay caught up if you do miss one.

This training is relational at its core; you’re learning to hold a room of real people, not just play music into a void. Camera-on attendance is part of how the group builds trust with each other, and how Seth and peers can actually witness your development.

No. Level 1 builds your foundation: roots, rhythm, and presence, but it doesn’t certify you to facilitate independently under the Ecstatic Dance Temple name. That happens through the separate, in-person Level 2 Graduation Retreat, which Level 1 graduates are eligible to apply for.

Level 2 is a separate, in-person retreat, offered after successful completion of Level 1. Details on dates and location will be shared with the cohort as you approach the end of the 12 weeks. There will be several opportunities to join a Level 2 retreat so if you can’t make the first one, we’ll keep you up to date on when other dates become available.

All 12 live weekly sessions, the accompanying video content for each week, and your two personal 1:1 technical sessions with Seth.

Beyond the two-hour Monday session, expect to spend time each week with the accompanying video content, plus your own practice such as building your music library, running practice sets, and completing the embodied and reflective exercises woven through the course.

Yes. Many people come to this training for the facilitation, embodiment, and presence work as much as the DJ craft itself. You don’t need a plan to run your own nights to belong in this cohort, you just need the pull toward this work.
